Key Responsibilities
As a student assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with and in collaboration with an international team with strong focus on providing high quality and commercially integrated advice to our internationally orientated business. You will be a part of the Inspection team which consist of 16 colleagues, who most of them has an engineering background, we work closely together with the business and local departments in our area of operation. In the team, you will be provided with an in-depth insight into the everyday work life interfacing with a multitude of stakeholders. Furthermore, you will be very close to the daily work of the Corrosion part of the team while assisting the Corrosion Engineers. This is a way for you to turn theory from different engineering aspects etc. into practice.

Working hours will be approximately 15-20 weekly, with great flexibility in the planning.

You will assist the Corrosion Engineers to perform Fitness-for-Service (FFS) assessments on pressure integrity equipment such as piping, flanges and pressure vessels.

Overall, you will assist with a wide range of tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Assisting the Corrosion Engineers tasks
    • Data collection and verification
    • Calculation using provided spreadsheets
    • FFS report preparation, getting approval and distribution after validation by Inspection Method Lead
  • Maintain live database of all FFS case and temporary repairs with concerned parties.
  • Facilitate and conduct Bi-weekly meetings to follow up with site inspectors.
  • Maintain databases and assess results for the external visual coating inspection

Candidate profile

Who we are looking for
Ensuring a safe and healthy workplace during operation of an oil and gas field is crucial and it is expected that the right candidate adhere and recognize themselves in this mindset. You are expected to learn and develop further within this area. You are currently enrolled at a university and we expect your study to be within engineering, chemical, process, corrosion or similar areas. This position calls for a structured approach to own planning and workload prioritization. Additionally, it requires a strong motivation and interpersonal skills, especially the willingness to learn and ask questions whenever in doubt or just having a strong curiosity for the field. We are looking for a team player with the ability to build relationships and work constructively with others to achieve business goals.

Your background

  • Being enrolled in a Bachelor/Master program is a requirement;
  • Basis knowledge in either of the fields of corrosion, coatings, chemical or mechanical engineering is mandatory;
  • Proficiency in oral and written English is a must;
  • Knowledge of MS Office.
