Duties and Accountabilities :

The Financial Analyst will have responsibilities for specific individual tasks/projects within TREBK’s Static Data and SWIFT maintenance team in executing TREBK’s work program, while maintaining close relationships with the other Treasury departments.  His/her primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, some combination of the following activities:

•Monitor team’s email and case management tool (CRM) queues and either redirect or fulfill banking or static data requests, as appropriate.

•Perform static data updates within TRE systems (Standard Settlement Instructions (SSIs), route codes, holidays and currency code updates).

•Perform call-backs with external counterparts, both WBG-initiated call-backs as well as counterparty-initiated call-backs.

•Perform RMA management duties (SWIFT Relationship Management Application updates and changes).

•Prepare and provide WBG Standard Settlement Instructions (SSIs) to WBG-wide business units.

•Prepare SWIFT Designation Letters informing banking partners of authorized signatories and personnel, including for country office bank accounts.

•Monitor external banking portals and administer access privileges.

•Perform testing for SWIFT Standards Upgrade and Treasury business system implementations, including potential weekend and/or holiday work.

•Perform bank account certifications of all bank accounts on record with commercial and central banks.

•Prepare various weekly, monthly and annual reports.

•Assist in the development and implementation of changes to TREBK procedures, processes, and standards. Ensure that all business processes, procedures and internal controls in the unit are properly documented and complied with.

•Ability to be flexible and perform ad-hoc functions or back up and assist with other team deliverables, including:

  • Collect, summarize and submit team’s monthly Operational Risk Reporting and follow-up on agreed-upon remediation actions.
  • Support design and implementation of new Treasury systems, including reviewing Business Requirements Document (BRD), Scoping document and performing testing (User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and post-implementation testing).
  • Coordinate ISO 4217 Currency Code changes with central banks and ISO (International Standards Organization).

Selection Criteria :

1.Fluency in the English language, both spoken and written.

2.Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (Computer Science / Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics) with 2 plus years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, preferably with back-office operations; or, bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field with 5 years plus of directly related business experience.

3.Business-related certifications are a strong plus (CFA, CPA, CA, CTP or equivalent).

4.Broad knowledge of and familiarity with treasury business lines and back office operational functions, including banking, payment operations and cash management. Familiarity with treasury systems (e.g., Summit, Quantum, Murex, SimCorp Dimension) is a strong plus.

5.Strong understanding of the role of static and reference data in Straight-Through Processing (STP), and the risk and controls around automated transaction and payments processing.

6.Strong proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint (proficiency test in Excel to be given).  Proficiency with Power Query and Power BI is highly desirable.

7.Demonstrated ability to manage simultaneous competing demands to deliver on-time.

8.Displays a high degree of self-motivation and accountability.

9.Detail-oriented with strong organization skills.

10.Original thinker with quick learning abilities and proven ability to develop creative solutions for banking-related queries and demonstrated analytical abilities in solving one-of-a-kind issues.  Experience working on innovative technology related projects is a strong plus.

11.Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written – to effectively share and exchange information. The ability to listen actively, obtain necessary input, share ideas and express views and opinions diplomatically and confidently, speak persuasively, and convey information in a clear, objective, and concise manner.
