About Data Integration Department
To expand on the delivery of its 7th Strategic Plan, particularly on data governance and responding to Members needs, DID was established to bring together the organisation’s Observatory, and economics and epidemiological analysis initiatives to support decision making. These include Global Burden of Animal Diseases programme (GBADs), the Observatory, the epidemiological team and the survey support service. Both economic and epidemiology analysis initiatives will support WOAH members to improve animal health investment decisions
Analysis to support decision making:
GBADs is an international collaboration jointly led by WOAH and the University of Liverpool, and implemented by a consortium, looking at the economics burden of animal diseases and health issues. The burden of animal health is assessed in terms of net loss of production, expenditure, and impacts on the economy and trade within the context of the food system.
Job purpose
The Programme Analyst will be hired specifically to work on DID’s economic analysis initiatives and support other activities within DID. Specifically, the analyst will support a range of functions to ensure the effective and efficient integration and use of products and services associated with DID by the organisation’s staff, Members, and Partners including: assessment and utility testing of products and services; and development and implementation of mechanisms to encourage adoption and uptake by WOAH’s staff, Members and Partners.
Qualification and Experience
Required qualifications
– Advanced graduate degree (Masters level or equivalent) in economics (e.g., agricultural economics, animal health economics), international development, business management or another relevant field;
– At least three years of experience in project management, product management, change management and other aspects of business transformation and performance;
– Experience in developing business cases for new projects;
– Demonstrated ability to work with experts, international development organisations, academia, major donors, and/or research institutes that can help develop and promote the organisation’s workstream on economic analysis.
Additional experience (asset)
– Experience working with national and or multilateral frameworks and intergovernmental institutions relevant to animal health, animal welfare, and public health is an asset.
