Recruitment for Chief Executive Officer (banking / credit) – Gambia

Responsibilities:

• Manage subordinate supervisors in operations, finance, information technology, human resources and audit departments
• Ensure high quality financial services are delivered to their clients
• Maximize outreach to the target group in a sustainable way
• Ensure the long-term financial viability of the subsidiary in accordance with established targets and plans
• Implement best-practice corporate governance, management, organizational structure and procedures, staff development, financial management and risk management principles
• Ensure compliance with all internal & external policies and regulations
• Strategic planning for the organisation and its units – responsible for direction, coordination & evaluation of all units
• Maintain good coordination with regional office, headquarters, and governing bodies
• Prepare and continuously maintain a comprehensive business plan and annual budget for Board approval and manage the organisation’s resources within the budgeted guidelines and relevant laws and regulations
• Enhance processes and infrastructure, data and intellectual property to allow the organisation to grow and achieve its goal

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Relevant Masters degree
• a minimum of 10 – 15 years experience in commercial/retail banking with experience in various departments within the bank
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a credit specific role
• International experience in developing countries: 3 years minimum
• Fluency in English  and the local language preferred
• Risk Management experience required
• Exposure to strategic planning is required
• Solid management, accounting and legal skills are essential
• Previous exposure to Africa in their career
