Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

Governance in Action/ S2JK is supporting the government, parliament and the business community to deliver political solutions to economic problems. By engaging motivated individuals and institutions across the political spectrum and business, we are building broad-based coalitions to champion legislative and policy reforms.

Under supervision of Strategic Learning Manger and overall guidance of the Team Leader, the Consultant will render editorial and proofreading support in English to the Team in editing programme-supported research and publication materials as needed.

The Editor / Proofreading Consultant will be required to:

  • Review, organize and edit the document/report, including correcting all grammar, style, structure, and formatting to ensure a report is factually correct, flows well, all ideas are expressed simply and clearly, with no mistakes and inconsistencies.
  • Edit document to ensure clarity and continuity of the argument; clarity of structure and core themes of the document/report;
  • Ensure that a paper fully meets a customer’s requirements;
  • Elaborate on content, paper structure, and idea development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Outstanding proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal skills, solid understanding of the standards, essential skills and best practices of editing;
  • Degree in English Literature, Journalism, Creative Writing or similar;
  • Attention to details;
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills;
  • Familiarity with digital organisational and visualisation tools/software is a plus;
  • Experience in working with texts related to economic development is an advantage.
