The Grants and knowledge management unit is an integral part of COOPI’s International Activities Department. Its mandate is to lead the design and implementation of COOPI’s institutional funding strategy, and to coordinate, cultivate, and promote the knowledge and quality of the organization’s programs. The Programme Quality Officer will have a key role in the programming process, he/she will be the reference figure for the management of the organization’s thematic-sectoral knowledge and innovation in key sectors where COOPI operates.

Responsibilities

The Programme Quality Officer will be held responsible for the following duties:

  • Coordinate the project planning process in collaboration with regional coordinators;
  • Oversee the structuring, maintenance and coordination of COOPI’s sector policy management and review system, including the updating of tools;
  • Organize and coordinate the internal process of regular systematization, capitalization and dissemination of best practices and lessons learned from ongoing and/or externally evaluated projects;
  • Archive, publish and promote the dissemination of documents produced, through the Organization’s internal and external platforms;
  • Map internal thematic resources and focal points, in collaboration with regional and country coordinators;
  • Support/guide the production of briefings, policy and position papers on topics covered by COOPI (external/donor use), capturing trends and developments;
  • Write or review documents produced by regional and country offices (factsheets, case studies, etc.) and ensure coherence with COOPI’s institutional communication policy;
  • Provide relevant inputs and information to keep the Organization’s website and other internal knowledge sharing platforms up to date in collaboration with COOPI’s institutional communications manager;
  • Support the coordination of consultants responsible for producing training modules, studies, manuals and similar, aligning the Organization’s sectoral technical lines of action with updates published on the most relevant international standards;
  • Support participation and/or participate directly in global thematic networks/platforms as assigned by the Head of grants and knowledge management;
  • Monitor new opportunities and partnerships;
  • Provide support, upon request, in project writing, verifying the consistency of the technical-sectoral contents with the priorities of the donor and the strategic lines of the Organization;
  • Remain up to date with trends in humanitarian and development cooperation and promote knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

Essential

  • Master’s degree in humanitarian studies, development cooperation, international relations, or similar ;
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience including at least 3 years in similar roles ;
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language ;
  • Excellent ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders and represent the organization in international networks ;
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills ;
  • Ability to work under stress, communicate effectively and in a timely manner ;
  • Results and problem-solving orientation ;
  • Experience in human resource management.

Desired

  • Knowledge of Italian language
  • Knowledge of French and/or Spanish language
  • Relevant field experience
