airBaltic is looking for a highly skilled Java developer. You will work as part of our IT team to design, develop, and maintain our microservices and applications. You should have a proven experience with Java and a strong understanding of Spring Boot. If you are passionate about building innovative software solutions and have a strong background in Java-based software development, we encourage you to apply for this opportunity.

We will entrust you to

  • Develop and maintain applications and microservices used both internally at airBaltic as well as for external clients and partners;
  • Collaborate with business analysts and system administrators to design an optimal solution;
  • Automate tests and deployments;
  • Share your knowledge with other team members;
  • Work on new greenfield projects, but also support and/or rewrite our existing applications and services.

What You will need to succeed

  • Advanced skills in modern Java development. We are using Spring Boot (Web, Security, Cloud, Integration), Apache Camel;
  • Solid SQL knowledge;
  • Knowledge about dependency management, build/deployment tools (we are using Jenkins, Gitlab CI and Ansible);
  • Experience with Git;
  • Basic security awareness (at least, OWASP Top 10);
  • Ability to learn and evaluate new tools, concepts, and challenges quickly.

As an advantage will be

  • Experience with modern Java and Spring Boot. We are now migrating our Java 11 / Spring Boot 2.7.x projects to Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.;
  • Knowledge about API design (Swagger, RESTful);
  • Experience with other programming languages, such as Scala, PHP, Javascript, Python;
  • Experience with messaging queues (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ);
  • Experience with Kafka (KStreams) and/or Event-driven architecture;
  • Scalability, Docker, K8S.
