Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Chief of Party to join our team in Maputo, Mozambique.

The Chief of Party will provide overall leadership, ensuring achievement of project deliverables and partners’ and stakeholders’ management. The COP will lead a team comprised of other senior-level staff and manage implementing partners to ensure proper planning, implementation, reporting, financial management, and compliance. The COP will coordinate with government and other stakeholders to ensure that activities complement ongoing initiatives and adhere to country and global standards. The COP will also actively engage and advocate with other potential stakeholders and donors to mobilize resources and create synergies towards increased effective investment in malaria surveillance and control.

The successful candidate will have :

  • Master’s degree or higher in Public Health related discipline or International Development ;
  • Substantial experience of progressively increasing responsibility working in public health in the fields of project coordination, project management, etc. ;
  • Proven experience of managing large public health projects in developing and transitioning countries, including operations and financial management experience ;
  • Experience with multiple donors and their varied processes, procedures, rules and regulations; a specific understanding of BMGF procedures an advantage ;
  • Strong track record in meeting reporting and programmatic deliverables and deadlines ;
  • Demonstrated leadership and teambuilding skills in developing partnerships and working collaboratively with wide range of stakeholders: donors, host country institutions, and international organizations ;
  • Strong diplomacy, negotiation, collaboration and coordination skills in context of complex and shifting priorities ;
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and planning skills ;
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, supervisory, and team-building skills ;
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English (speaking and writing) ;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills ;
  • Ability to adjust and communicate effectively, complex ideas to varied audiences ;
  • Self-motivated and ability to self-manage workload and time.
