We’re looking for a Principal Gifts Manager who will thrive on playing a key role in developing the Principal Gifts function at Oxfam.

Please note this is a UK-based role, and candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK to be eligible for the role.

What you’ll be doing:

In this role, you’ll manage a small portfolio of Ultra/High Net Worth (U/HNW) individual philanthropists capable of making £1m+ gifts. You’ll gather and apply insight about what matters most to them, creating bespoke communications and strategic plans aligned to their interests and needs to generate transformational income and influence. In collaboration with colleagues in the UK and around the world, you will create compelling asks and outstanding stewardship that will connect supporters to the impact of their gifts. By deepening your own understanding about the power dynamics of international aid, you will play a pivotal role in helping change attitudes and expectations of best practice.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be / have:

  • Outstanding relationship building skills, including listening, questioning, building rapport and understanding the needs and values of individuals;
  • Strong drive to achieve results, with experience of successfully securing high six or seven figure gift(s) from individual philanthropists and/or equivalent income in a fundraising or client relationship management role;
  • Demonstrable ability to navigate complex organisations and projects and create strong internal networks and working relationships;
  • Ability to proactively work across hierarchies and geographies;
  • The resilience and creativity to manage setbacks;
  • Ability to understand complex issues and communicate them succinctly and compellingly;
  • Excellent written communications skills, with a proven track record of producing effective communications tailored for U/HNWI;
  • Ability to review and analyse programme budgets;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the sector and trends in philanthropy.
