DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the overall supervision of the Knowledge and Information Management Officer, the intern will be engaged in the following duties:

– Supporting the Knowledge and Information Management Officer in the development and implementation of a plan for the redesign of intranet
– Migrating and organizing content to the new intranet
– Support knowledge sharing and the maintenance of the WMO intranet;
– Working with SharePoint applications including content libraries and lists
– Support training activities for internal stakeholders on the new intranet
– Support the identification and development of areas for the improvement of knowledge management practices within GS;
– Support the implementation of the Communities of Practice (COPs) in WMO by reporting on community analytics and supporting knowledge sharing initiatives within the COPs.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
At least a bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, media studies, digital communications, or a related field.
Experience
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the WMO Internship programme.
Other requirements
– Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and its specialized agencies such as WMO
– Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views
Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written) is essential. Knowledge of the other official languages of WMO would be an advantage.
(Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)
