KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  1. Work independently, and alongside country office teams to identify, gather, and analyze relevant data to produce high-quality, evidence-based reports and other analytical outputs that meet the office needs;
  2. Provide technical assistance and produce analytical products (project proposals, donor-facing reports, policy briefs, infographics). Present them to the teams or donors as appropriate;
  3. Using analytical outputs, facilitate discussions on programme design and adjustments; thereby contributing substantially to WFP’s excellence in the delivery of humanitarian and development programmes;
  4. Provide technical support in the research process by conducting desk research and preparing policy briefs. Assist in drafting Concept Notes and/or Terms of Reference for research/programme activities of the office as needed;
  5. Identify new areas of research, collaboration and entry-points for WFP to save & change lives and build efficient pathways to food assistance. Working across programme and research teams, build project proposals based on most up-to-date humanitarian and development challenges in the country – particularly in regards to CSP priority areas;
  6. Collect donor intelligence to ensure financial expenditure and key KPI reporting are consistent with donor priorities and requirements. Coordinate with budget/COMET teams to support donor reporting requirements;
  7. Participate in regular monitoring of data for program reports and feedback integration.
  8. Any other task as assigned by the supervisor.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Advanced University degree in political science, development studies, development economics, management, or other related fields, or First University degree with additional years of relevant work experience and/or training/courses.

Experience: Between one to three years of research and policy experience in providing support to development policy and program activities with professional experience in quantitative/qualitative research, data analysis, data visualization, and reporting activities. Previous work experience with international organizations preferred.

Languages: Fluency (level C) in English language.
