Position Summary

SYCAC is looking for a reliable a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our team, who has the ability to assist in leadership on financial issues while maintaining a collaborative approach.

The Finance Officer will be responsible for carrying out efficient finance and accounting activities, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and donors’ guidelines,

Additionally, any other relevant tasks, as requested by the direct manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance of all financial policies and procedures in accordance with SYCAC and donor’s guidelines throughout the operations by all departments.
  • Providing financial support, training and advice to other departments.
  • Providing financial information to the Project manager, both proactively and on request, in order to monitor the expenditure, and provide timely advice of potential over or under-spending.
  • preparing donor financial reports and requirements.
  • preparing monthly budget financial report.
  • prepare an analysis of accounts as requested.
  • Assist in preparation of external or internal audit.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial data entered in the financial software.
  • Supervising the archiving of the accounting documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual and donor budgets in coordination with other departments.
  • Any other relevant tasks, as requested by the direct manager.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business Management, economics, or a relevant field.

Experience:

  • Practical experience in finance of at least 3 years and financial experience at least 2 years in non-profit organizations.
  • A clear understanding of donor compliance is essential.
  • Good level of understanding and the ability to using QuickBooks accounting software.
  • Ability to develop and present operating budgets and cash flow forecast and analysis.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive internal audits.

Knowledge & Management Skills:

  • Excellent organization skills and be able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Very good analytical and computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Languages:

  • Fluency in both Arabic and English, including both writing and speaking.
