Key Job Responsibilities

WoW Technical Producers reports to the WoW Pool Manager. They are member of a WoW Facilitation Team. Each Facilitation Team functions as a collaborative and self-directed team to lead their WoW course or workshop. The WoW Technical Producer is responsible for the technical aspects of each WoW virtual training course, supporting facilitators and participants before and during learning events. The overall objectives of the WoW Technical Producer are to:

  • Ensure that the WoW pre-work learning materials are accessible on Tembo for all WoW participants.
  • Set up and execute the technical requirements of each virtual WoW session and related activities, manage the digital classroom and materials, and support out-of-session communications with participants about technical/software issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with the WoW Facilitators, PMU team, MSF Operations and HR teams to follow through on the administrative and reporting functions of each WoW course.

Working Conditions

The position is a virtual position, and the WoW Technical Producer will work from home or if possible, from an MSF office. As such, their working environment must be conducive to facilitating virtual sessions, include access to high-speed internet and allow for focused and uninterrupted periods of time to conduct classes based upon a schedule. WoW Technical Producers may be asked to use personal computers, smart phones, and related equipment, without expectation of additional compensation.

The working hours of the position vary based on the scheduling of the WoW courses.  WoW courses are scheduled at the convenience of the participants and in consideration of the time zones they work in. Depending on these time zone differences, the WoW Technical Producer may be asked to work outside of traditional “office hours” and must be flexible and available to work according to the scheduled times for all the weeks of the assigned WoW course.

Essential Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting, organizing and/or producing virtual and blended learning events;
  • A high level of proficiency using computers and the ability to quickly learn how to use the software applications used in WoW courses, including Microsoft Office, Tembo, Zoom, Mural and others;
  • Ability to calmly and confidently trouble-shoot technical issues (including software / hardware / internet connectivity), and quickly identify solutions;
  • Capable of providing clear technical instructions to a diverse range of WoW participants who may not be confident or familiar using computers or new software. Understanding of the need to patiently reframe instructions to suit different users’ needs and expertise;
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to produce multiple sessions concurrently;
  • Strong communication skills, at ease working with diverse individuals and groups;
  • Ability to model MSF’s principles, with some understanding of MSF’s operations and policies;
  • Experience accurately proofread written work so only minor corrections and oversight are required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience with MSF (field or HQ) or another humanitarian agency;
  • Knowledge of IT best practices and MSF’s learning and development philosophy;
  • Professional fluency in more than one language used in the WoW courses (English, French, Arabic, Spanish);
