Duties

Work with Alliance partners and Secretariat colleagues to develop, strengthen and quality assure tools and approaches to design service delivery strategies which improve quality and reach of immunisation services, especially at community level. This includes developing and evaluating effective and efficient service delivery approaches and learning from other primary healthcare programmes;
•    Pioneer Secretariat thinking on how to help countries better align and strengthen service delivery strategies (e.g., routine immunisation, campaigns, PIRIs) across Gavi grant modalities (e.g., health systems strengthening grants, operational cost grants for campaigns), working closely with Vaccine Programmes colleagues and partners;
•    Pioneer Secretariat thinking on integration of immunisation service delivery with other primary healthcare services working closely with colleagues in the Vaccines Programmes team and partners to ensure there is a clear approach and guidance to countries and country teams;
•    Identify gaps in health systems’ capacities to reach new and underserved target populations with vaccines (e.g., birth dose for infants, adolescent vaccines, potential future adult vaccines) and head development of Gavi strategy to address these gaps working closely with colleagues in the Vaccines Programmes team and partners;
•    Work with COVID-19 Vaccine Delivery & Integration team to develop and operationalise Gavi’s approach to integrating COVID-19 vaccination into routine immunisation;
•    Manage development of Gavi strategy on human resources for health, including community health workforce, to clarify the Alliance’s role and approach working closely with colleagues across the HSIS team and partners;
•    Work with other members of the EIP team to design and test novel approaches to service delivery with funding from relevant strategic focus areas (e.g., zero-dose, demand, civil society & community engagement, gender);
•    Engage key partners across the Alliance working on service delivery to help align thinking and approaches, share knowledge and coordinate support to countries;
•    Provide direct support to select country teams in developing robust, evidence-driven service delivery strategies, as well as equity, gender and demand programming as required;
•    Ensure there is a robust monitoring, evaluation and learning agenda for Gavi’s investments in service delivery, including capturing and disseminating best practices and lessons learned, working with MEL colleagues;
•    Other duties and activities as required.

Academic qualification : 

Advanced university degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Health Systems, Management, Strategy, Business Administration or related fields.

Languages

 Written and spoken fluency in English;
•    Fluency in French strongly desired;
•    Fluency in Portuguese and other languages of Gavi-supported countries an asset.
