Job objective

Legal adviser is local Ukraine position and only person having the right to work in Ukraine can apply.
The legal consultant is responsible for ensuring the legal literacy of the Fund, representing the interests of the Fund in the authorities of Ukraine, as well as providing legal advice and clarification for employees on legal issues and maintaining administrative and economic documents of the organization.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Providing legal advice and explanations on legal issues in oral and written forms.
  • Draft and edit business contracts, statutory documents, memoranda and other necessary documents in Ukrainian, English and Russian.
  • Carry out methodical management of legal work at the enterprise, provide legal assistance to structural divisions.
  • Legal support of work related to the conclusion, execution, change and termination of contracts for the purchase of goods, works, services, contracts of the HR department.
  • Monitoring, analysis and preparation of information on changes in legislation and judicial practice.
  • Provide conclusions on compliance with current legislation, precepts of orders, regulations, orders and other documents of the enterprise.
  • Representation of the interests of the organization in courts.
  • Preparation of reports.
  • Translates incoming documents with legal substance from Ukrainian and/or Russian into English.
  • Translates outgoing documents with legal substance from English into Ukrainian and/or Russian.
  • Development and participation in the development of draft regulations (orders on personnel issues, core activities), draft collective agreements.
  • Reviewing, together with the structural units of the regulatory and legal acts and other documents on issues within its competence, with the aim of bringing them into line with the legislation.
  • Timely draw up and submit changes to the company’s statutory documents for state registration.

    Communicate with counterparties on various legal issues.

  • Support in the bodies of the executive service.
  • Drafting claims, defending the company’s interests in court
  • Prepare reasonable responses to claims.
  • Draw up materials on the involvement of employees in disciplinary and material responsibility.
  • Conduct reference and information work on legislation and regulatory acts using technical means. As well as accounting for changes in current legislation and other normative legal acts that are being approved.
  • Interaction with controlling and regulatory bodies (drafting requests/providing answers to requests, obtaining permits, carrying out other actions necessary for obtaining documents of a permit nature).
  • Solving corporate issues according to the needs of the company.
  • Carry out work on familiarization of company officials with regulatory acts related to their activities, as well as changes in current legislation.
  • Assist in the preparation of documents and acts of a property-legal nature.
  • Record and store administrative and economic contracts and documents, court and arbitration cases that are pending and completed.
  • Required issuance of visa documents and documents for issuance of a time permit for residence for non-residents.
  • Give recommendations for filing, filing, archiving documents, personnel, lega.
  • Perform other management orders as necessary.

Job requirements:

Language skills:

  • Advance level in English skills along with translation expertise.
  • Fluent in Ukrainian or Russian with a good knowledge of the other.

Education degree:

  • Baccalaureate / Secondary diploma (including but not limited to: Legal).

Work experience:

  • 3-year relevant area work experience.
  • Experience in non-for profit and/or humanitarian organization is preferred.

Skills and competencies:

  • Resolutions, orders, orders of higher authorities, regulatory and other governing documents on the legal activity of the enterprise.
  • Methods of conducting business conversations and negotiations.
  • Knowledge of current legislation, civil, labor (Income Tax), financial and administrative labor.
  • Procedure for drawing up and concluding business contracts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook, plus Yuocontrol (or other platforms for checking counterparties)
  • Experience in preparing analytical materials, reports, legal documents.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian principles and standards of human rights.
  • Soft skills: attention to detail, systematicity, communication skills, focus on results, flexibility.
  • Advocate’s certificate.
